Ayurveda approach
Auyveda has a few herbal remedies for treating prostate
problems which is benign. Since prostate cancer is a possible
cause of prostate problems, it is best to seek your doctor to
determine your condition.
· Herbal formula
You need:
1/8 part shilajit
2 parts gokshura
2 parts punarnava
Use ¼ of this formula with some warm water
twice daily after meals until symptoms resolve.
· Cumin-coriander-fennel tea
This tea will help relieve the burning sensation when you urinate
and other symptoms of prostate problems. Make equal amounts of
herbs for the tea and steep 1 teaspoon of the mixture in a cup
of hot water for 10 minutes. Take this 2 to 3 times daily.
· Vidari and ashwagandha
Take equal amounts of the herbs above and mix. Use ½ teaspoon
twice or 3 times daily and washed it down with warm water.
· Ginseng, Hibiscus or horsetail tea
You can try any of the above tea and drink it several times every
day. Follow the directions on the package. If you use bulk herbs,
mix 1 teaspoon to a cup of boiling hot water and steep for 5 minutes.
Leave to cool and drink.
· Punarnava guggulu
Take this tablet 2 times daily. Punarnava guggulu is a helpful
herbal compound for enlarged prostate.
· Yoga exercise
Do the Ashwini Mudra, a yoga exercise that requires you sit down
and pull or suck the anus inward in a series of tense-release
movements. Repeat this 10 times once in the morning and another
in the evening.
Another yoga exercise just as helpful for prostate
pronblems is the Elevated Lotus pose,or Kukutasana.
· Sesame oil massage
Apply some sesame oil or castor oil to the area located bwtween
the anus and the testicles called perineum. Make gentle circular
rubs then then end off with strokes from the anus towards the
base of the penis. This gentle massage to the prostate area is
also helpful but make sure you use light strokes and do not press
hard.
